Family-Focused Care

Evidence-based Therapies
During your teens’ stay in residential treatment, they will participate in intense individual and group therapies such as CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing. Our licensed clinicians will help teens modify negative thinking patterns that drive substance abuse, then set treatment goals, and develop positive coping strategies.
Relapse Prevention Planning
Throughout treatment, we will focus on relapse prevention planning by helping teens build a strong support system in their community. This may include involving family or friends in the recovery process, ensuring teens meet academic requirements with educational support, connecting them to a peer recovery network, and aiding the family in attaining aftercare and follow-up services.
Medication Management
During residential treatment, your teen will meet weekly with our board-certified psychiatrist to address underlying mental health challenges through medication management. When they first enter our treatment program, we look at the medication they are already on—adjusting prescriptions and dosages as needed. Medication combined with therapy can significantly improve treatment outcomes.

Lotus Behavioral Health holds both treatment and academics as equally important. Residential Treatment For Teens:
Lotus Behavioral Health features residential treatment for teens that renews and restores wholeness to individuals and their families impacted by substance use and mental health disorders. Our residential drug treatment program is available for male and female adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. Based on treatment recommendations, our residential treatment for teens programs range from 30 to 90 days. The minimum length of residential treatment depends on the type and extent of the adolescent’s challenges and their willingness to make a change. According to the National Institutes of Health, residential treatment for teens requires an adequate period of time to generate lasting change.
In our residential program, adolescents receive customized treatment that is developed and delivered by expert clinical therapists. We also provide individualized educational services to keep teens on track with their school responsibilities. Our excellent academic program is designed to positively impact their confidence, engagement, and sense of accomplishment—supporting their process of healing and recovery. This integrative residential treatment curriculum consists of a minimum of 24 hours of clinical and activity therapy each week. Clients also attend our virtual classroom daily where they will be able to keep up with their academics or vocational goals. Our comprehensive residential program reestablishes healthy adolescent behavior while setting the stage for a successful transition back into families, homes, schools, and communities.
During residential treatment, active family participation is essential for a good outcome and can greatly benefit even the most severely addicted individuals.
